Whatcom PUD is hiring two (2) full time Water System Operators.
Basic Responsibilities:
This position works independently or as part of a crew to operate the water treatment plants and well systems to assure compliance with federal, state and local laws, regulations and standards; perform water quality testing and various lab tests; operate a variety of treatment plant and testing equipment; prepare and maintain a variety of records and logs; clean clear-wells, settling basins, contact basins, and media filters; conduct periodic inspections of the water plant to assure proper operation of electronic and mechanical equipment. Operates SCADA to monitor and control water system facilities. Performs on call/standby duty for remote alarm contact and access, and other duties as assigned.
This is a represented position, General Teamsters Union Local 231. Starting base hourly rate of pay: $31.64 including excellent benefits.
