General Manager Announces Retirement

Our General Manager Chris Heimgartner has announced his plans to retire at the end of June of this year. Our Board of Commissioners have issued a statement regarding his retirement and their recruitment plans for Chris’s successor.

Mt. Baker Geothermal Project: Prefeasibility Resource Assessment Evaluation and Preliminary Recommendations

HERO (Hot Rock Energy Resource Organization) has prepared a Prefeasibility Geothermal Resource Assessment Evaluation and Preliminary Recommendations report for the Nooksack Tribe and Whatcom PUD. As outlined in our recently adopted Strategic Plan, our Board of Commissioners has identified the investigation of new clean energy sources of power as a priority. We are pleased to be working with the Nooksack Tribe in these efforts.
