Public Utility District No. 1 of Whatcom County is pleased to announce for the tenth year in a row, another clean Financial Statements Audit has been issued by the Washington State Auditor’s Office.
The audit covered calendar years 2015 and 2016, which were years of operations and facility maintenance and capital infrastructure activity for the District. Every two years, State Auditors carefully review the PUD’s financial records. The audit underscores the dedication by District staff of performing even challenging tasks while adhering to state and District policies and procedures. Overall, the PUD received no audit findings and no management letter items.
This is the tenth straight year of “clean” audits for the District. Finance Director Annette Smith said “By continuing to follow policies in place, with dedication and hard work, it takes the whole staff to successfully pass an audit. The quality of all of our employees continues to place the District in a solid position moving forward to ensure excellent service to our customers and community.”
