Determination of Non-Significance for Proposal of New Electric Substation

PUBLIC NOTICE

PURSUANT TO RCW 43.21C AND WAC 197.11.340(2), NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 15, 2019, Public Utility District No. 1 of Whatcom County did issue a Determination of Non-Significance with a 14-day comment period and will not act on the proposal for 14 days from the date of above, relative to the environmental impact of the following described proposal:

Build a new electric substation to replace an existing outdated substation on site that provides power service to the existing Water Treatment Plant No. 1 (WTP1).  The proposed substation site is approximately 1.5 acres and the proposed land use remains unchanged from existing land use. The determination that the proposal will not have probable adverse impact on the environment and that an environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required was made following the review of a completed environmental checklist and other information submitted by the applicant and on file.  Complete information, including all environmental documents and copies of the proposal may be reviewed at the P.U.D. No. 1 of Whatcom County, Administrative Offices, 1705 Trigg Road, Ferndale, WA.
